Baker & Taylor Business Update from Amandeep Kochar (October 2021)

BY BAKER & TAYLOR

Dear Library Partners,

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through the industry-wide supply chain challenges of the current quarter. When I wrote to you last month, I promised ongoing updates, and I want to keep the momentum going by sharing new solutions and tools designed to help you plan through these challenges and create efficiencies.

With the supply chain disruptions impacting our library customers, we've developed a new list tool available in Title Source 360 called Supply Chain Issues.

  • This list is created by our buying and merchandising team and highlights titles that our publisher partners have indicated may face a delay or on-sale date change.
  • This list is not designed to report all delays or date changes, but our goal is to report impact to high visibility titles so your library can plan accordingly.
  • This list will be updated weekly and located on the right side rail of the homepage on Title Source 360, identified by the "Supply Chain Issues" icon.

As always, we recommend pre-ordering titles as early as possible to ensure timely delivery of new releases. Late orders and re-orders may experience delays based on the supply chain.

Despite the continuing obstacles the pandemic presents to our organization and the entire industry, Baker & Taylor continues to invest in new and innovative products for the library market that focus on efficiency and the need of the hour, including digital and software solutions such as BTCat and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Analysis powered by collectionHQ. With BTCat, our state-of-the-art cataloging utility and database, and self-service DEI Analysis, an analytics solution that helps you diversify your collection, we remain 100% committed to enabling our library partners to streamline services. Your Baker & Taylor sales consultant can show you how these solutions will make an impact in your library and community.

Thank you again for your partnership and trust. We appreciate all that you do for your communities.

Best,

Aman Kochar
Executive Vice President and General Manager
