CHARLOTTE, N.C., January 6, 2015 — Baker & Taylor, the premier worldwide distributor of digital and print books and entertainment products, has announced a content agreement with Cricket Media. Under the new partnership, education media and social learning company Cricket Media will supply Baker & Taylor with content from across its portfolio of acclaimed children's magazines and K-12 multimedia offerings.

Schools using Baker & Taylor's K-12 digital education platform, KnowledgePoint, will now be able to order selections from Cricket Media's rich content library including articles and texts from Cricket's children's publications Ladybug, Cricket, Cobblestone, Odyssey, Appleseeds and Ask. School administrators, teachers and students can read the articles as PDFs on computers, tablets or mobile devices.

"This new partnership gives Baker & Taylor the opportunity to bring Cricket Media's enlightening, entertaining and beloved content directly to schools," said George Coe, President and CEO of Baker & Taylor. "It is by offering a diverse and expansive collection of ebooks, articles and other media that we help students thrive in the classroom and beyond, while building a passion for reading and learning."

In addition to the articles and texts, KnowledgePoint offers tailored assessments and learning support scaffolds around select Cricket Media articles, so teachers can leverage the magazine content in the classroom. Questions are embedded throughout the text to provide real-time actionable data as students read to show performance and improvement trends.

"We are delighted to partner with Baker & Taylor to expand our reach in engaging teachers, children and families with content that sparks 21st century learning," said Katya Andresen, CEO of Cricket Media.
